Rapid progress seems to be being made on the track replacement of the track between Victoria Park and the single line staff on the way to the Wakebridge with attention now being turned towards the relaying phase.
The old track has now been removed on the northbound track and the 500 new sleepers prepared for installation. This has seen them laid out in the car park, drilled and then fitted with base plates. They are now being moved to trackbase where they are put into place on the ballast foundation which is down as part of the work. A start has also been made on putting the new track into place.
