January fare changes on the way for Supertram

Stagecoach have announced that as from Thursday 2nd January 2020 revised fares will be in operation across their tram and bus services in Sheffield, including the reduction in number of different ticket types. This will include the introduction of the new Silver ticket which will replace Bus Only and Bus and Tram tickets.

The silver ticket will see a dayrider available for £4.90, a 7 day megarider for £17 (or £16 online or through the app) and a 28 day megarider for £62 (all tickets shown are adults). These tickets are available on the entire Supertram network as well as Stagecoach bus services across South Yorkshire and beyond. Anyone travelling further afield can go for a Gold ticket which gives validity into West Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire as well.

In addition to these new combined tickets the tram only dayrider will go up to £4.40 with the tram only family dayrider gold being £12.00. Single and return fares on Supertram will remain unchanged.

It may not be the most pleasing news but the new fares are part of a simplification of the fares structure following feedback where passengers said there too many tickets available.
