FTT get a dome and compressor as an early Christmas present!

It has been another busy week of progress for two of the Fylde Transport Trust’s trams with both Railcoach 279 and Coronation 304 seeing significant arrivals as they continue their long roads back to service.

Starting off with 279 and a major milestone was reached as one end has seen the roof dome fitted, really making a difference in returning this tram to its original streamlined Railcoach condition. If the fitting of the dome wasn’t enough then the first destination blind aperture was also cut, with destination blind added! The tram will feature twin destination screens when completed.

Although not fitted back to the tram yet a significant achievement was reached on the overhaul of Coronation 304 too. The compressor – which we previously reported on was being overhauled by an outside contractor at Trafford Park – has now been returned to the FTT and arrangements are now in progress to get this fitted back into 304.
