Another pre-illumination outing for the Western Train

Following the success of its last outing Blackpool’s illuminated Western Train is to make another appearance on the tramway ahead of this year’s illumination season offering three round trips from North Pier/Tower to Little Bispham and Pleasure Beach. The date of these trips will be Saturday 10th August 2019 – over the weekend of the Blackpool Airshow.

Leaving North Pier/Tower at 1740, 1900 and 2010 the Western Train will first head north to Little Bispham before returning south all the way to Pleasure Beach and then back to North Pier/Tower where it will complete the circuit another twice! Very much like an illumination tour of days gone by the big difference (aside from the lack of illuminations of course!) is that you can board at any of the heritage tram stops along the route – that’s North Pier/Tower, Cabin, Bispham and Pleasure Beach.

Standard heritage fares apply at £5.50 for adults and £3 for children (under 5s are free). Heritage Day tickets will be accepted (a four tram service will run during the day as well) and a special discounted family ticket for £15 is available in advance from the Visit Blackpool website.
