In Pictures: And still the trackwork goes on in Sheffield

We are still in area 4 of 2019’s rail replacement programme in Sheffield but this work is now drawing to a conclusion which will allow almost two full weeks of a normal service running across the Supertram network! Before then though work has now moved onto the short section of the Blue route to Malin Bridge. In this latest pictorial work is seen underway on the inbound line between the junctions with Ball Road and Beechwood Road. Stuart Cooke with the images.

With the road remaining open outside of the worksite work is underway on replacing the track with the spacers in evidence to ensure its all laid to the right gauge.

Another look at the area under attention just short of the Malin Bridge terminus.

Work continues on the approach to Malin Bridge.

With track waiting to put down into its new home. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 2nd August 2019)
