Regular behind the scenes tours at Seaton’s Riverside Depot in 2019

A new innovation for 2019 at the Seaton Tramway will the chance to see behind the scenes at Riverside Depot with regular tours taking place throughout the year, including a tram ride between Seaton and the depot. As it may be recalled when the new Seaton terminus was being constructed, and with tram rides starting from Riverside, there was the chance to see inside the depot for the first time outside of the now defunct annual galas and now this will once again be possible thanks to this new offering.

2019 will see the return of behind the scenes tours of Seaton Tramway’s Riverside Depot with regular opportunities throughout the year now on sale. Special tickets are available for these tours which also includes a full Explorer ticket for travel on the tramway for the remainder of the day.

One of the tramway’s drivers will act as a guide for those taking part in the tour with the experience starting at Seaton terminus with the short tram ride from there to Riverside. Once at the depot a 20 minute tour will take place giving insights into the daily workings of the depot, including the metal and wood workshops, and also the chance to view some rarely sighted trams such as long withdrawn no. 7. There will also be the chance to ask any of those burning questions you may have about the tramway! Once the tour is over the tram will take participants back along the tramway to Colyton. With the ticket price inclusive of an all day explorer ticket it is then possible to complete your day with plenty more tram rides along the entire length of the Seaton Tramway.

Tickets for these depot tours cost £14.95 (in effect this means the tour costs £3.95 as a normal Explorer ticket is priced at £11) and can be booked in advance online.

Tours will take place each day at 1100 and 1400 on the following dates:

14th May

28th May
