September Review – Crich: No. 2 – Works Cars

One of the normal highlights of enthusiasts events at Crich is the operation of works cars and 2018 was no different. As well as demonstration runs there was the rare sight of the Manchester Horse Drawn Tower Wagon in the open for photos. In this article we see three of the works vehicles in the collection.

Now approaching 10 years since its restoration this is Cardiff 131 just outside the depot gates.

Croydon Tramlink 058 was celebrating its 40th birthday having originally been built back in 1978 and was also out on the mainline giving a few lucky visitors rides along the line. It is seen here heading north past Victoria Park.

Although non-operational the Manchester Horse Drawn Tower Wagon made a very rare appearance out in the open for afternoon photos. We see the vehicle here outside the depots. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
