NET Community Star tram named for next 12 months

222 – one of two trams designated for special namings each year in Nottingham – is now honouring two of the city’s unsung heroes following a naming ceremony on 9th March. The 2018 NET Community Star Award winners are Tim and Jean Jeffrey and their names will now adorn the tram for the next 12 months.

Tim and Jean Jeffrey have fostered 200 children and young people over the years and since retiring from fostering Jean has become a volunteer at the Rainbow Parents Forum, which promotes and supports the wellbeing of families and carers of disabled children. Over the next 12 months they will use their time to highlight of the work of this charity.

Each year 222 is used to highlight the winners of the NET Community Star Award – a competition organised in partnership with Nottingham Community and Voluntary Services – with the naming being held on the anniversary of NET opening each year.

222 was previously named Richard and Michelle Daniels who were also present at the ceremony.
