Tram-Train enabling works cancelled

The planned works which would have seen the overhead wires on the Stagecoach Supertram system joined with those recently installed on the Network Rail line where tram-train services will travel to Rotherham have been cancelled. The reason for this cancellation, or postponement if you prefer, is that the contractor has not received vital components for the supplier. A normal service will now operate on both Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February with the works taking place at a later date.

  1. Geoff IoM says:

Is the word ‘connected’ or ‘joined’ missing, between ‘system’ and ‘with’? Presumably, this further delay has something to do with the Carillion debacle, and is just another chapter in this long-running farce.
