In Pictures: Burst water main causes Midland Metro suspension

In the early hour of Monday 13th November a burst water main was discovered in Birmingham City Centre on the corner of Bull Street and Corporation Street. Despite only apparently being a minor leak the water from the pipe covered part of the Midland Metro tracks which led to the decision to suspend services between Bull Street and Grand Central throughout the day.

Bull Street returned to its terminus status on Monday 13th November with the line through the city centre closed because of the burst water main. In this view we see 30 standing at the platform having arrived from Priestfield with passengers disembarking and concluding their journeys on foot.

Work underway to repair the burst water main.

With a Midland Metro van parked on the tracks the flooded section can also be seen.
