Manchester Metrolink Engineering Works: 22nd & 23rd September 2012

There will be further service suspensions on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September on Manchester Metrolink because of engineering works affecting both the South Manchester line and the City Centre.

On Saturday 22nd September no trams will be able to operate to St Werburgh’s Road on the South Manchester line and there will also be no trams between Deansgate-Castlefield and Piccadilly. Trams from Altrincham and Eccles will run as far as Deansgate-Castlefield with trams from Bury and Oldham running into Piccadilly. A replacement bus service will be in operation from St Werburgh’s Road to Piccadilly (all stops except Mosley Street) and a shuttle will run between Deansgate-Castlefield and Piccadilly.

Then on Sunday 23rd September there will again be no service on the South Manchester line whilst the entire City Centre lines will be closed to trams with Bury and Oldham services being terminated at Victoria. Again replacement buses will be operated with one going from St Werburgh’s Road to Piccadilly and the second running as a circular shuttle bus between Deansgate-Castlefield, Piccadilly and Victoria.
