The last major event of 2015 takes place at the Heaton Park Tramway on Sunday 15th November with their annual Autumn Gala where you will have the chance to ride on four different trams along with various unique photo opportunities.
The event starts at 1100 when Blackpool trams 619 and 623 will start off in service with Hull 96 and Manchester 765 entering service from 1300. All four trams will remain in service until when 619, 623 and 765 will return to depot allowing Hull 96 to operate alone for the final hour.
No special event is complete without some unique photo opportunities and that is exactly what is being planned during the event. A Manchester Corporation bus will be visiting from the Manchester Museum of Transport and will be displayed alongside Manchester 173 – there will also be the chance to board the lower deck of the tram where there will be photographic displays. Hull 96 will be displayed for photos until 1300 on the siding at Old Lakeside – a very familiar location for this tram last time it carried Hull colours. When entering service 96 will depart alongside 765 from Old Lakeside in a tandem run.
Down at Middleton Road there will be the chance to board and view the work being undertaken on Stockport 5 which will hopefully be returned to service in 2016. Tours of the workshop will also be available.
