An enhanced Saturday service for NET

Once again services on Nottingham Express Transit are to be enhanced, ahead of the opening of the Phase Two extensions this summer, with the Saturday timetable the latest to be looked at. Over the past few months weekday services have seen improved frequencies introduced and these are now to be extended to Saturdays from 27th June (although with slightly reduced hours of operation).

Trams will run every three to five minutes between 1000 and 1900 on the core section of the network from David Lane to Station Street with alternate services running to Hucknall and Phoenix Park (leaving these two termini with a tram every seven minutes). Currently the service frequency on a Saturday is every 5 minutes in the core section and every 10 minutes to the outer termini. Meanwhile Monday to Friday will continue to see the same frequencies between 0700 and 2100.

* Meanwhile preparations are continuing on the Phase Two extensions ahead of the expected opening of these lines this summer. Regular testing and driver training is ongoing and as part of the latest phase of testing trams on Phase One have started to show Toton and Clifton on their destination screens although anyone wishing to carry on beyond Station Street to these locations will be sorely disappointed for now.
