The new Midland Metro Urbos 3 trams are starting to see a bit more action with 20 being used as a part of a filming assignment for the BBC local news on Wednesday 2nd April whilst it has also been announced that one of the class is to be shown off to the public at Birmingham Snow Hill on Saturday 5th April.
To publicise the display of one of the trams at Snow Hill BBC West Midlands were filming a report in and around the depot at Wednesbury which included a few runs between the depot and Wednesbury Parkway using 20. This allowed the first chance for many members of the public to see one of the vehicles not only in action but also alongside the existing T68 trams – and those interviewed by the BBC were most impressed by what they saw!
The first major public appearance of one of Urbos 3 trams will be at Birmingham Snow Hill on Saturday 5th April between 1000 and 1500.
The tram will be open to members of the public and it is expected that staff from Centro and Midland Metro will be on hand to answer questions. The chosen tram will leave the depot at approximately 0930 making its way to Snow Hill for display. It is also planned that one of the trams will be displayed at Wolverhampton St George’s although details of when this will be have yet to be announced.
