In Pictures: Edinburgh 275 swaps advertiser again

Edinburgh Trams 275 now has its third different advert in as many months following the application of a new design for National Galleries Scotland and their autumn exhibition featuring the work of Andy Goldsworthy. This advert is of the partial type with full heigh adverts on just two sections and the remainder just having above window ads.

The main background colour on this new advert is a light blue, or at least is on the parts above the windows. The full height sections feature artwork by Andy Goldsworthy (or at least we are presuming they do as we’re no expert in art!).

The exhibition is celebrating 50 years of Andy Goldsworthy’s art and is on at the Royal Scottish Academy until Sunday 2nd November 2025.

This advert is the ninth carried by 275, and remarkably a third of these have been within the past three months and that comes after one sponsor advertised on the tram for 18 months! As with so many trams in Edinburgh it started its advertising life with an ad for CR Smith (October 2017-May 2019) and has followed with this with adverts for EE 5G, Scottish Rugby, Play at Edinburgh Park, EPSC (two designs), Philadelphia and Edinburgh Gin. Only the Philadelphia advert was a full wrap, the remainder have all been of the partial type.

The full advert is seen here at St Andrew Square as 275 operates a service through to the Airport. If you stay on the tram just one more stop to Princes Street you will be able to alight and go to the advertised exhibition.

A bit more of the detail of the advert including one of the pieces of artwork.

And another of the full height sections showing some of Andy Goldsworthy’s artwork. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 4th September 2025)
