Essential maintenance works on Nottingham Express Transit will see no trams running between Wilkinson Street and The Forest after 2200 for four nights in August. Taking place from Monday 4th to Thursday 7th August 2025, the work involves repairs on the corner of Radford Road and Wilkinson Street and has been timed at night to minimise disruption for passengers.
Each night the work will commence at 2200 and continue until 0500 the following morning. As the work will involve breaking out and replacing concrete along the tracks, local residents are being warned that it is likely to be noisy. Contractors will aim to complete any noisy work at the start of each evening, but noise may still be experienced whilst the work takes place overnight.
A replacement bus service will be in operation between 2000 and 0000. This will run between The Forest and Wilkinson Street via Gregory Boulevard, Bobbers Mill and Western Boulevard.
The final trams from Toton Lane to Hucknall (departing 0005) and Clifton South to Phoenix Park (departing 0008) will still run as normal.
Trevor Stocker, Head of Operations and Safety at NET, said: “These essential improvements are necessary to ensure our network can remain safe and reliable for our customers. By undertaking this work during the night, we are hoping to reduce the impact on customers. For anyone who regularly relies on travelling via any of our tram stops that will be closed during this time, we encourage them to visit the dedicated maintenance page on our website, or contact us through our online customer service portal if they have any questions. We thank all our customers for their patience and co-operation during this time.”
Normal services are due to resume from Friday 8th August 2025.
