In addition to the ongoing major work taking place in Manchester City Centre, Transport for Greater Manchester have confirmed that there will be emergency works at Deansgate-Castlefield on Sunday 29th June 2025 impacting services going through this stop.
The work is needed to fix a track fault here and whilst some trams from the south of Manchester will still operate as far as Deansgate-Castlefield no services will be able to go into the city centre from the start of service until around 1400.
During this period services will run as follows:
- Manchester Airport to Firswood
- The Trafford Centre to Cornbrook
- Eccles to Cornbrook via MediaCityUK
- Altrincham to Deansgate-Castlefield
- East Disbury to Deansgate-Castlefield
- Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly
- Etihad Campus to Piccadilly
- Rochdale Town Centre to Exchange Square
- Bury to Victoria
With it being a Sunday the frequency will be every 15 minutes.
There will be a replacement bus service operating between Deansgate-Castlefield, St Peter’s Square and Piccadilly Station.
Services will start to get back to (current) normality from 1400 although it may take a little bit of time for services to fully reform.
The service pattern post-1400 will be:
- Manchester Airport to Victoria
- The Trafford Centre to Deansgate-Castlefield
- Eccles to Victoria via MediaCityUK
- Altrincham to Bury
- East Disbury to Rochdale Town Centre
- Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly
- Etihad Campus to Piccadilly
