There seems to be a bit of a theme with recent adverts on Edinburgh Trams – they seem to be encouraging people to leave Edinburgh behind and go somewhere far, far away! And that has continued with the latest new advert as 275 is now advertising Philadelphia, USA with the tram carrying its first full wrap.
The new advert comes just a few weeks after American Airlines returned to Edinburgh Airport with a daily flight in each direction up until the start of October. This is the first time that this route has run from Edinburgh since 2019 and to celebrate the fact and to encourage those in Scotland it would be a good idea to take advantage of it the new wrap tells everyone all about what Philadelphia has to offer.
Featuring a blue background he advert uses the “Come For…, Stay For…” slogans. That includes “Come for the Culture… Stay for the Cuisine” and “Come for Philadelphia.. Stay for Philly”. With it being a full wrap there is no sign of the white of the fleet livery and it still sees two full height adverted sections, including the windows being covered.
This is only the seventh different advert 275 has carried, its relatively small number helped by several long-standing adverts. Needless to say it started off advertises CR Smith in October 2017 and since then has had ads for EE 5G, Scottish Rugby, Play at Edinburgh Park and ESPC (x2).
16 of the 27 strong class of CAF trams now have full vinyl wraps meaning that the traditional fleet livery is being seen less and less.
