With the Royal Highland Show returning once again to Edinburgh between 19th and 22nd June, Edinburgh Trams are putting plans in place to transport people to the event. The Royal Highland Show is Scotland’s biggest celebration of the best of food, farming, and rural life and Ingliston Park and Ride is just a short distance away from the Royal Highland Centre.
Extra trams will be running all day throughout the show and there will also be a shuttle bus linking the Park and Ride site with the east gate of the Royal Highland Centre. Walking times to the show range from 10-30 minutes depending on which date you head for.
Sarah Singh, Edinburgh Trams Head of Service Delivery, said: “The Royal Highland Show is a highlight of our calendar – and we’ll be busy during all four days of the Show to ensure that customers can get to and from the event quickly and safely.”
Tram tickets can be brought directly from the Royal Highland Show’s website at the same time as buying tickets to the Show. Alternatively they can be bought on the day using contactless Tap-on, Tap-off payments or using the on-platform ticket machines. The app is also available for ticket purchases.
