Snaefell Mountain Railway recruit for engineer

The Department of Infrastructure on the Isle of Man are currently in the process of recruiting for an Electrical/Mechanical Rolling Stock Fitter to join the team on the Snaefell Mountain Railway.

This is a rare opportunity to join the team and will see the successful candidate inspecting, servicing and maintaining the unique vehicles of the Snaefell Mountain Railway. This includes working on the heritage trams built in 1895 (and re-equipped in the 1970s), newly built trams (rebuilds of existing trams, which will be tested and commissioned) as well as the engineering stock such as the Wickham cars and wagons.

The job will be located in Laxey with a salary being offered for between £27.598 and £33,290 per annum. It’s a 37 hour week. The closing date is Sunday 9th June 2025 for applications.
