Another edition of “Picture in Time” featuring Manchester Metrolink.
This time we include a picture of an unidentified T68 as it approaches the G-MEX stop up a viaduct that still looks very new after two years of use. In the background is the trainshed of the former Manchester Central Station, built by the Cheshire Lines Committee and closed in 1969. It reopened in 1986 as G-Mex (Greater Manchester Exhibition and Conference Centre) and is now known simply as Manchester Central, although retains its use as an exhibition/conference centre.
Looking at the roof ads, that would appear to be 1007.
