In Pictures: A first look at the East Anglia Transport Museum for 2025

The award-winning East Anglia Transport Museum (including a “coveted” double win at the British Trams Online Tram of the Year 2024 contest) re-opened for their 2025 season on Sunday 6th April and we now head east for our first selection of photos of the operating season. These images were taken by Bryan Grint on Easter Sunday, 20th April 2025.

As well as being an operating day – which usually sees two trams, a trolleybus and the East Suffolk Light Railway running – this was also the final day of their Easter Treasure Hunt, which included a free vintage bus service to Lowestoft.

So far this year, five different trams have run in service: Blackpool trio 11, 159 and 634, London Transport 1858 and Sheffield 513.

Sheffield 513 heads away from Chapel Road terminus as it takes another load of passengers towards the woods.

The second tram in service on this day was London Transport 1858 which is also seen not long after departing from Chapel Road.

Sheffield 513 is sandwiched between two London Transport vehicles – far side if HR/2 tram no. 1858 whilst K2 trolleybus 1201 is closest to us.

Another tram not needed for service was Blackpool Standard 159, seen here at the very front of the tram depot.

The newest attraction at the museum is Grace’s Motorcycles which was officially opened over the weekend.

A peek inside the trolleybus depot – its green either side with Nottingham 578 to the left and Ipswich 105 on the right. Meanwhile, straight ahead we see Newcastle 628 over the pit.
