A trip to… Edinburgh Trams

We’re going back to Edinburgh for this pictorial article as we take a look at some images of the trams in service on Saturday 1st March 2025. Steven Hughes captured these images.

This first photo shows 255 on Princes Street as it works a service all the way to the Airport. The tram is seen in a full vinyl wrap livery for Breitling. This is the third year in succession that the watch company have taken out a contract on the trams, all of them coinciding with the Rigby 6 Nations championship for which they are the official timekeeper.

Another shot along the famous Princes Street where we see 257 also working to the Airport. Although it may not seem like it the tram is in a full wrap for Edinburgh Napier University its just that much of is white as is the normal fleet livery.

251 is seen here showing its latest revised advert for St James Quarter.

Back to the rugby theme and another regular advertiser on the trams is Scottish Rugby who currently have this wrap on 260. In this view the tram is seen on its way to Newhaven as it just comes out of Shandwick Place and moves onto Princes Street.

276 received a revised advert for EPSC earlier this year and tram and advert is seen here on Shandwick Place having just departed from West End. It will end up at Newhaven.

Dusk on the very first day of March as we see Camera Obscura adverted 270 with a service to Newhaven. This advert is the longest standing full wrap on Edinburgh Trams.

273 is just turning onto Princes Street as it heads down from St Andrew Square with a service which will ultimately end up at the Airport. This is another tram in a full advert with it having vinyls for Uniqlo – this is its third ad for the same company with this particular example being applied in November 2024.
