Out and About: Edinburgh Trams at Picardy Place – March 2024

Back to Edinburgh for this latest edition of “Out and About”.

If you look overhead you would think that this was a pleasant early spring’s day but then look down at the pavement and its clear that it wasn’t quite like that as it was a case of dodging the showers! We’re at Picardy Place here as 272 (probably apt that it has adverts for Scottish Water!) calls on the way to the Airport. York Place is in the distance and St Paul’s and St George’s Episcopal Church can be seen above the tram.

Then we see 255 (ad for Forever Edinburgh) arriving at the stop and it too will ultimately end up at the Airport. The Holiday Inn Express is on the left and the Playhouse Theatre in on the extreme right advertising a forthcoming production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. (Both Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 22nd March 2024)
