Another edition of “Picture in Time” as we feature Croydon Tramlink again.
We have moved from one terminus to another this week as we now find ourselves at Elmers End. The interchange between tram and train here is ideal as we can see here with the tram in the bay platform it uses and the railway station (allowing connections out to Hayes and into central London) platforms just on the right hand side.
On this day we see 2535 sitting at the stop as it waits out time before departing for another journey around the central Croydon loop. Also note here that the fares at the time of this visit were £2 if using cash and just 90p when using Oyster. Today the fare is £1.75 when using contactless or Oyster.
