In Pictures: First ticket machines installed on the West Midlands Metro

Over the past few months engineers have been installing wiring and cabling at stops across the West Midlands Metro network in preparation for the addition of ticket machines and now we have the very first machine in place at Bradley Lane.

No official public word has come from West Midlands Metro as to what their long-term plans are for the ticket machines and their current on-board conductors. But it does appear that at some point in the future there will be the ability to purchase tickets from machines as well as the My Metro app which has been available for the last few years.

  1. Andy says:

When Sheffield Supertram opened they had ticket machines at every stop and history tells us how well that went! Looks like Birmingham hasn’t learned from Sheffield’s mistakes!
