Blackpool 166 adds to the open tram fleet at Crich

The first day of the Seaside Fun event at the Crich Tramway Village on Saturday 25th May not only saw lots of seaside attractions for all the family but also the return to service of another tram for the year. Blackpool 166 has become the thirteenth passenger tram to run in 2024 – and adds a second open car to the fleet for when the weather is nice.

Toastrack 166 had been part of the operating fleet last year but had not been commissioned to operate at the start of the season. However, this work has now been completed in the Workshops which allowed it to take its place in the operating fleet once more.

It debuted in service on Saturday 25th May and was also used again two days later on Monday 27th May.

13 trams have now run in 2024: Chesterfield 7, Glasgow 22, Blackpool 40, Sheffield 74, Blackpool 167, Leeds 180, Blackpool 236, Metropolitan Electric Tramways 331, Leeds 399, Sheffield 510, Blackpool 630 and Liverpool 869 being the other 12.
