Out and About: West Midlands Metro – Birmingham City Centre

We head into central Birmingham for some shots of the West Midlands Metro in this edition of “Out and About”.

49 is one of the 21 newer CAF trams – marketed as third generation Urbos100 – and we see it here on Corporation Street on its way to Edgbaston Village. The stop at Corporation Street has staggered platforms and it is passing the platform for trams heading in the opposite direction here.

And speaking of the Corporation Street outbound platform its seen here again as 25 arrives on the way to Wolverhampton Station. Whereas 49 is one of the newer trams, 25 is one of the original CAF trams built for the network. (Both Photographs by Ken Jones, 1st February 2024)
