Judging underway for West Midlands Metro 25th anniversary logo competition

Over 100 entries have been received by West Midlands Metro as they look to find a special logo for their 25th anniversary which will be celebrated this year. The deadline for submissions for primary school children was on Monday 29th April and now comes the hard job of selecting a winning entry.

Sophie Allison, West Midlands Metro Managing Director, said: “The quality of submissions has been superb, and good luck to all participants and the schools they represent. It’s been almost a quarter of a century since trams returned to the streets of Birmingham and Wolverhampton. and we’re delighted that this competition has caught the imagination of youngsters in the West Midlands as they have a vital role to play in our success over the next 25 years!”

The winner will be announced next week and the design will be displayed both on the side of trams and Metro merchandise. They will also (alongside classmates and a teacher) enjoy an exclusive VIP behind the scenes tour of the Metro depot in Wednesbury. The winner’s school also gets a £500 cheque.
