3069 has become the latest M5000 in Manchester to receive a new advert with the tram having received new vinyls for IKEA in mid-March. The new red based advert is the second time that the Swedish store – who have a superstore by the tramway in Ashton – have advertised on 3069.
The previous time that 3069 carried IKEA vinyls was from September 2021 to October 2022 when it had blue/purple vinyls for the company. IKEA also advertised on 3081 from May to December 2019 using a white background.
As for 3069 this is the third advert that the tram has now carried. Its first ad was for Slaters Menswear between April and September 2018.
There are now 13 trams with advertising liveries – including those promoting the Bee Network and the Get on Board campaign.
3069 leads 3127 into Abraham Moss with a service from Bury to Piccadilly. The new advert on 3069 is seen here showing the bright red colour used which will surely at the very least make it is easily visible to the public! (Photograph by Gareth Prior, 20th March 2024)
