Manchester Metrolink M5000 3092 has returned to service in time for Christmas after receiving repairs. The tram had been absent from service since the weekend of Parklife in June 2023 when it was involved in an overhead line incident which caused damage to 3092 and has seen it stored until repairs were started recently.
Parklife took place over the weekend of 10th and 11th June 2023 and so 3092 has been absent from service for over six months. Work started earlier in December to repair the damage and fortunately this didn’t take too long enabling the tram to be back in service by 21st December 2023.
3092 is at the back of a double tram at Sale Water Park with a service heading to Manchester Airport. 3131 was at the head of the service. (Photograph by Philip Gay, 21st December 2023)
