NET support Nottingham Girls’ High School Junior School charity ramble

Students and staff from Nottingham Girls’ High School Junior School have raised more than £1,400 for the BBC’s Children in Need fundraiser about taking part in a six mile ramble. They were supported in the ramble by Nottingham Express Transit who supplied them with complimentary tram passes to get to the start of the route.

The ramble – in its third year and being 6.3 miles in length – started at the Beeston Canal close to the Gregory Street tramstop and then saw the group walk to the Canalside Heritage Centre at Beeston Lock and then ending at Meadows Embankment after walking alongside the River Trent. The walk took them five hours to complete.

Alison Sweeney, Head of Marketing at NET, said: “It was brilliant to be able to support Nottingham Girls’ High School Junior School’s annual Children In Need sponsored walk for another year. I’d like to offer a big congratulations to all the students and staff who took part in clocking up those miles and, more importantly, for helping to raise vital funds for a very worthy cause.”
