Edinburgh Trams donates to the Poppy Appeal

Edinburgh Trams have donated £500 to the Scotland Poppy Appeal following acts of national remembrance over the weekend. The money donated will help veterans and serving members of the army, navy and air force receive the support they need.

The donation was made possible thanks to an initiative that saw the operator reuse specially designed poppies for display in tram windows.

Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: “Making this donation is one of the ways we can show our appreciation to all members of the armed forces for their selfless service and sacrifice, he said. Last weekend they were also able to enjoy free tram travel and dozens of veterans and serving forces personnel took up the offer. Many of our colleagues are former military personnel, and we will continue to do everything we can to acknowledge the bravery of those who have answered the call of duty throughout the years.”
