Blackpool Flexity2 014 has become the latest tram on the system to receive the ODAS cameras as part of the continued implementation of the new safety system.
Eight of the Flexity2 trams are now so fitted with 014 following in the footsteps of 001, 002, 003, 012, 013, 016 and 017.
Those who follow these pages regularly will know that ODAS stands for the Obstacle Detection Assistance System and is a safety feature developed by Alstom. It aims to detect any obstacles on the track ahead and if it does will bring the tram to a halt. It works via a series of cameras installed in the cab window.
