In Pictures: Driver familiarisation continues on Blackpool Tramway extension

In just over six weeks time a full passenger service will be in operation on the (admittedly much delayed) Blackpool Tramway extension along Talbot Road to a terminus by North Station. In the lead up testing and now driver familiarisation is underway in preparation for this service to officially launch on Sunday 16th June 2024. Peter Dockerty saw two trams in action on the line on this visit.

002 has just turned from Talbot Road into Talbot Square and now waits to cross the Promenade to head onto the main tramway line. Its using the southbound curve.

Also on this day 003 was out on further driver training runs. Its seen here just coming out of what still seems to remain a work compound on the final approach to the North Station terminus. (Both Photographs by Peter Dockerty, 2nd May 2024)
