More trams for repairs at Dudley confirmed

As we’ve seen in recent weeks there has been a changing of the trams in Dudley as repairs of the West Midlands Metro Urbos3s continues, but we hadn’t had confirmation of which trams were now there, until now! The two latest trams can be confirmed as 33 and 35.

The exact day that the trams made the move from Wednesbury across to the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre in Dudley isn’t known (the movement of West Midlands Metro trams has probably become such a common sight that no-one necessarily notices when they see one on a lorry now!) but its likely to be late June or early July that they were transported, replacing 25 and 30 which are back on the West Midlands Metro after their repairs with the former in service.

33 and 35 are two of the just four Urbos3s which have not run at all since services resumed in June 2022 (the aforementioned 30 along with 34 the others, this doesn’t necessarily mean all the others are currently operational though) and so their movement to Dudley was probably to be expected and should hopefully see the pair returned to service in the not too distant future.

34 has been in traffic many times since the service resumption.

The only tram left is 32. Hasn’t entered service, so I’m not sure whether if that will need repairing or not
