In Pictures: Photos from early season at Crich

This trip to the Crich Tramway Village was on Sunday 19th March 2023 not long after the season had got underway when there was a three tram service featuring Glasgow 22, Leeds 180 and Leeds 399. Photos from Stuart Cooke.

As well as the three trams in service there was an added bonus of Liverpool 869 on test (as part of its commissioning process). The tests of the tram were obviously a success as it was running in service the following day!

Glasgow 22 stands at Stephenson Place having just terminated with a service from Glory Mine. Passengers gently make their way off the tram.

Through the front of Glasgow 22 where we see Leeds 180 at Town End terminus.

Leeds 180 then heads up the line and passes Glasgow 22 which will soon pull forward to the stop to start loading.

Sheffield 510 wasn’t in service but was stabled on the depot fan where it had the Blackpool Electric Locomotive and the Croydon Tramlink KLV 058 for company. Both works cars have been commissioned for use in 2023.

In the Workshop and London Passenger Transport Board 1622 is being commissioned for service. Just visible alongside is Newcastle 102 which has returned to the Workshop as part of work to get it ready for service.

Back out onto the tramway and Liverpool 869 was on test as part of its commissioning. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 19th March 2023)
