Staff at the Seaton Tramway have recently completed inclusivity and accessibility training sessions. The programme aims to provide the staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to make the tramway more accessible and inclusive for all visitors. It was developed in collaboration with disability advocates and accessibility experts.
Nicola Stone, Learning and Activity Manager at the Seaton Tramway, said: “We are delighted to have completed the inclusivity and accessibility training. At Seaton Tramway, we strive to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for all visitors and this training has equipped our staff with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve this goal. We are committed to creating a culture of inclusion and accessibility and we look forward to welcoming visitors with a wide range of accessibility needs.”
This is part of Seaton Tramway’s ongoing commitment to providing an enjoyable and inclusive experience for all visitors. The training was delivered in four sessions and covered a wide range of topics, including disability awareness, communication, physical access and customer service. It also included practical exercises and scenario-based training to give staff hands on experience in dealing with different accessibility needs.
The tramway is now looking forward to implementing the knowledge and skills gained from the disability and accessibility training programme to make the tramway more accessible and inclusive for all visitors.
