The Rail Accident Investigation Branch have confirmed that they have conducted a preliminary investigation into an incident on Nottingham Express Transit which saw a passenger dragged a short distance. The incident occurred at 1804 on 22nd February 2023 at Beeston Centre.
The preliminary investigation ascertained that the passenger placed their walking stick in a departing tram’s closing doors. As a result they were dragged for several metres before falling onto the platform and they suffered facial and chest injuries.
Following this preliminary investigation it has been decided that a full investigation is not needed and as such a safety digest will be published in the near future.
