15 Years Apart: London United Tramways 159

In this next look at a tram then and new we are off to the Crich Tramway Village to take a look at how London United Tramways 159 has changed over the past 15 years.

In 2007 London United Tramways 159 was in the midst of its major restoration and in this view taken on 29th September the lower deck was starting to take shape with paint starting to be applied and some signwriting on its panels with the word “LONDON” starting to appear. Its still a long way away before it gets its upper deck though!

By 2022 the tram had established its in the operating fleet – although since entering service in 2012 it has spent some periods out of use – and the intricately restored tram is seen here at Victoria Park when working back down towards Town End. This image was captured on 17th September 2022 (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
