Its 2007 v 2022 again for this next edition of “15 Years Apart” and we are back in Blackpool to take a look at one of the Open Boat Cars.
Its 4th September 2007 and the prototype Boat Car, 600, is sitting on the centre track at North Pier when operating specials on a warm late summer’s day. It will soon be departing back south through to Pleasure Beach. The tram had sponsorship from the Fylde Tramway Society and featured its original fleet number above the centre entrances.
Moving forward to 2022 – 2nd June – and Boat 600 retains green and cream but did go through overhaul which resulted in its receiving the front bumpers and halogen headlights. In this shot we see the tram arriving at a temporary stop located at Imperial Hotel when working heritage tours after the Queen’s Jubilee Tram Parade. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
