The Number 20: Douglas Bay Horse Tramway 45

Another tram enters the category of “The Number 20” and its published on 20th December too! Over to the Isle of Man and the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway today.

Built: 1907

Qualification for series: 4 x 5 = 20

Its 15th August 2013 and we are at just by the (then) Sea Terminal terminus of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway to watch 45 depart with a service back to Derby Castle. Horse power is provided by John as he hauls the rather empty tram past the Golden Jubilee clock (built for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887). (Photograph by Gareth Prior)

    I thought The DOI had had a rethink, and voted to extend The tramway to Ballasalla via Ronaldsway. Merry Christmas all!
