15 Years Apart: Croydon/London Tramlink 2544

Its back to Croydon for this edition of “15 Years Apart”.

We again include a change from red to green on London Tramlink in these two photos. The first shot was taken on 13th March 2007 at Beddington Lane (which can be found on the line out to Wimbledon) and we see 2544 when working a line 3 service to Wimbledon. At this time the tram was still in the original red and white livery – complete with gold fleet numbers – but had already received an electronic destination blind.

2544 received the new fleet livery in 2008/9 and has retained these colours ever since with no advertising vinyls having ever been carried by the tram. In this view the tram doesn’t even have any external advertising with the brightly coloured livery unfettered as its seen arriving at New Addington with a service from West Croydon on 25th March 2022.
