In Pictures: More Ride the Lights at Carlton Colville

As featured on these pages a couple of weeks ago, the East Anglia Transport Museum at Carlton Colville has been open over the three weekends in the immediate lead up to Christmas for “Ride the Lights”. This has seen trams, trolleybus and the East Suffolk Light Railway running after dark with the museum also going all festive with Christmas decorations up. Bryan Grint with these photos.

The standard scene at Chapel Road – with added festive pizzazz! The trams are Blackpool 159 and Sheffield 513 and alongside is Belfast trolleybus 246.

A solo shot of 513. In the distance we can see the tram depot with Amsterdam 474, Blackpool 11 and London Transport 1858 visible.

An interior view of 513’s top deck complete with decorations.

A view out the top deck front windows of 513 towards the depot. 474, 11 and 1858 are again seen.

Dusk at Chapel Road terminus with 159 and 513 waiting.

The entrance to the museum guarded by a couple of snowmen! Belfast trolleybus 246 is in the background. (Photographs x6 by Bryan Grint, 4th December 2022)

Inside the depot with trams at rest. Amsterdam 474 is at the front with London Transport 1858 on the left and Blackpool Balloon 726 also just visible.
