Trams &: West Midlands Metro 43 & bus

For our latest edition of “Trams &” we are heading to Birmingham City Centre as, you’ve guessed it!, we see a tram alongside a bus.

On 29th September 2022 the West Midlands Metro was only running between Wolverhampton St George’s and Library with preparations well underway for the Conservative Party Conference as the conference centre which would also give the opportunity for some further work to take place on Broad Street. Its Library where this image was taken as Urbos100 43 pauses having just terminated with a service from Wolverhampton. After a brief pause it will soon head back north to Wolverhampton.

At the adjacent bus stop is a bus branded for National Express Coventry. With the fleet number E054 it’s a zero emission bus and like we have seen during this series from Blackpool its an ADL Enviro400 although a slight different model. The reason for it being parked are unknown but it could have been to show it off to ministers during the conference.
