In Pictures: The final weekend of EATM’s Ride the Lights 2025

The final (of three) weekends of Ride the Lights took place at the East Anglia Transport Museum in Carlton Colville on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December 2025. Once again the museum flung open its doors from the afternoon to allow darkness to talk hold to make the museum even more magical with special Christmas lights surrounding the operating trams and trolleybuses. Bryan Grint paid another visit to the event on Saturday 20th December 2025 as shown in the photos in this latest pictorial article.

After Blackpool streamliners Marton VAMBAC 11 and Brush Railcoach 634 had been used for the majority of the event, 20th December saw London Transport HR/2 1858 come out into service as well. Before it was used it had a test run and is seen in this photo just passing the shop having come out of the depot.

Its not all that often that you see three trams at Chapel Road but that is exactly what is happening here with 1858 ahead of Marton VAMBAC 11 and then Brush Car 634 alongside.

There is no Tour of Illuminations for 634 now as its heading back into depot with its place in service to be taken by 1858.

London Calling at Chapel Road terminus. 1858 is now waiting departure and its joined at the trolleybus layby by trolleybus 260.

Marton VAMBAC 11 comes back to Chapel Road with HR/2 1858 already there. On the left there are a couple of trolleybuses waiting for departure too. (All Photographs by Bryan Grint, 20th December 2025)
