Around the World in Trams: Geneva 1801 & 890

Today’s “Around the World in Trams” is again in Geneva as we feature two of the more modern trams to operate on the tramway there.

This photo – dated 1st October 2019 – was taken on the approach to Cornavin (the main railway station in Geneva). On the left we see 1801 working route 18 to CERN and its joined by 890 which is on route 15 to Nations. Of note is that 1801 will turn to the right and across the path of 890 which is routed straight on.

890 is a 2009 built Bombardier Flexity Outlook and 1801 is a Stadler Tango ZR which entered service in 2011. Both trams remain operational today.
