Stagecoach Supertram Engineering Works: 17th & 18th September

There are to be more engineering works on the Stagecoach Supertram network throughout the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. This will impact services on the Blue and Purple routes with rail replacement works due to take place in the South Street Bridge area.

During the weekend the following services will run:

  • BLUE – Malin Bridge to Cricket Inn Road
  • PURPLE – no services
  • YELLOW – normal service from Middlewood to Meadowhall
  • TRAM-TRAIN – not impacted by the works but likely to be affected by Network Rail strike action

No tram service will operate between Fitzalan Square and Halfway on the BLUE route of from Cathedral to Herdings Park on the PURPLE route.

The closure is to allow for the replacement of worn rail in the South Street Bridge area. There will be preparation works from 0030 to 0500 on Thursday 15th September and from 0030 to 0500 on Friday 16th September before the main works get underway at 0030 on Saturday 17th September and run through until 0500 on Monday 19th September. There will be further post installation works from each evening between 2330 and 0500 until Thursday 22nd September.

Buses will run instead:

  • B1 dedicated replacement bus service operated by TM Travel – normal Supertram tickets will be valid on board this service
  • Stagecoach and First 120 bus services between City, Manor Top and Halfway and the First 51 service from White Lane to City
