In Pictures: New adverts on Metrolink

The turnover of adverts on Manchester Metrolink continues with 3087 and 3102 the latest to see new designs – both of which are now on their second adverts since entering service but for the former it comes after a very short-term contract came to an end.

For those of you who read the comments section the first new advert will come of no surprise as 3087 is now advertising Co-op. Featuring images of food and the slogan “Buying Co-op food raises funds that lift up your community” this advert replaces one for Paramount +. With the Paramount + advert having only been added in late June it must be one of the shortest vinyl wraps in Manchester since they started to become the norm.

Meanwhile, it appears that Lionel Messi has secured a transfer from Edinburgh as Metrolink 3102 is now carrying an advert for the Hard Rock Café and their new Messi Burger. A similar advert is being carried on two trams in Edinburgh and the same image of the Argentinian footballer is included on the advert in Manchester. 3102 previously carried a promotional livery for Welcome Back Manchester between June and December 2021.

Another shot of 3087 as it leaves Victoria bound for East Didsbury as part of a double unit.

Also new is this advert on 3102. Advertising the Hard Rock Café and its new Messi Burger this photo is at St Peter’s Square. (All Photographs by Michael Morton, 2nd August 2022)

I’m lead to believe that 3061 (please correct me if I’m wrong) is carrying rainbow ? (pride) livery ahead of Manchester pride weekend on 26th to 29th August. It seems like is in same design as previous pride livery like is one posted back in 2018.
