Metrolink 3145 sneaks in to Manchester and 3144 enters service

Manchester Metrolink M5000 3145 has arrived at Queens Road Depot – although it managed to sneak in almost unnoticed arriving later than usual. It made the usual journey across from mainland Europe via Hull Docks with it arriving either late on Saturday 30th July or early on Sunday 31st July.

The delivery of 3145 means that there are now just two further of this order to arrive (3146 and 3147) and with no more orders in the pipeline could it be that there are only two more M5000s to ever arrive in Manchester?

The previous tram to arrive – 3144 – has also entered service. It was first noted in service on Thursday 4th August when it was running on the Bury route – this was believed to be its first workings since commisioning and mileage accumulation.
